Sports Premium
The government has continued to support schools in encouraging children to live healthy lives and to build on the PE provision in school. They have done this by providing funding which Schools must use to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the physical education (PE), physical activity and sport they provide.
Schools receive PE and sport premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. In 2022-2023, Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil. Schools are accountable for this funding and they are asked to publish an annual report and review statement to show how the money is intended to be used and the impact of it.
At Broomwood we are committed to provide the children with positive PE experiences and to encourage the children to become both physically and mentally healthy. Below are our annual sports premium reports that set out how we use the money for the pupils in our school.
As part of our commitment to sport at Broomwood Primary School we fund swimming lessons for every child in Year 4. We recognise how important a life skill swimming can be and understand how it can be used as part of a healthy lifestyle in the future.
